Online Auction Exercise Overview

In this exercise, you will make decisions about participating in an online auction at a major Internet auction website. Important information about participating in an online auction is listed below.

1. Members of this major Internet auction community may put items up for auction or may bid on items that are up for auction. Membership registration is free. Members in this community consist of individuals, organizations and companies. Any member in this community may put an item up for auction, and any member may bid on an item that is up for auction.
   
2. A member who puts an item up for auction is called the seller for that auction. A member who provides the highest bid and therefore wins an auction is called the buyer for that auction.
   
3. After an auction is completed, the auction buyer and seller may rate each other with a feedback review. A feedback review for an auction may be positive, negative or neutral:
   
   A positive feedback review for an individual auction is worth  +1 point.
   A negative feedback review for an individual auction is worth  -1 point.
   A neutral feedback review for an individual auction is worth      0 points.
