Enter the scale name followed by the item names, like this:

skale x1 x2 x3 x4
scale2 y1 y2 y3
latent ab1 ab2 ab3 ab4 ab5 ab6

Notes:

Make sure your processing options in SPSS are set correctly. Choose Edit.Options.OutputLabels. You should see 4 picklist boxes. The first and third boxes must be set to "NAMES" (click here to see an example).
Open an SPSS *.sav file. A spreadsheet with your data in it should appear.
After the equations are generated, open a File.New.Syntax window and copy/paste the equations into that window. Then choose Run.All. An output window will now appear with the appropriate output in it for LISREL program generation.
