Alabama Economic Outlook
CBER publishes its annual short-term forecast for the
Alabama economy as the Alabama Economic Outlook,
issued in January.
The forecast covers output and employment by sector. Current economic
conditions and trends and their likely effects on the national and Alabama
economies are also examined. The Outlook is
supplemented by a companion publication of detailed forecast tables.
The Outlook and the forecast tables sell for
$30 each. To order the Alabama Economic Outlook 2008,
print the order form and mail the
completed form to CBER with payment.
 
Alabama Business
Alabama Business, the Centers
newsletter, became a quarterly publication in 2000. Each issue contains
a quarterly Alabama economic forecast and timely information on population
and other socioeconomic topics.
Alabama Business is a free publication. Users
can access the recent issues online in PDF format. To view or print a

Demographic
Profiles from Census 2000 on CD-ROM
The Alabama State Data Center has compiled detailed
demographic profiles for all counties, cities, and towns in Alabama, as
well as all census tracts in the state.
The profiles are available on CD-ROM only. The CD-ROM contains data from
Census 2000 Summary Files 1 and 3, with easy-to-install software and user-friendly
access.
The data sets are conveniently organized by geography and topic such as
the following: income, poverty, age, race, gender, educational attainment,
household characteristics, housing, occupation, and disability.
The Demographic Profiles CD is a valuable resource for grant writers,
academic researchers, planners, marketing professionals, legal researchers,
and government officials.
Cost of the CD-ROM is $25. An order form
is available online or call 205-348-6191 to place your order. Visa and
MasterCard are accepted.
 
Alabama Population Projections, 2000-2025
The Center for Business and Economic Research has detailed population
projections for Alabama and its 67 counties for five-year intervals from
2005 to 2025 and for single years from 2001 to 2004. Data from the
1990 and 2000 censuses drive the forecasts.
Projections are available on CD-ROM only. The CD contains an Excel
workbook for the state and for each county. Each workbook has 11
sheets including census data for 1990 and 2000 and projections for 2001-2005,
2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025. The projections are detailed by five-year
age groups broken down by race (white, nonwhite) and sex. Sheets
are conveniently tabbed and the entire CD is menu-driven. The CD
