Boeing Contributes $700 Million Annually to Alabama Economy through GMD Program

Q2 2008 Alabama BLCI and Economic Outlook Update

Dr. Sam Addy, CBER Director, highlighted the results of the second quarter BLCI survey in a presentation at a Compass on Business luncheon event in Huntsville on May 1. He noted the current economic challenges and discussed the strengths in the Alabama and Huntsville economies.

Alabama Economic Forecast Released

The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) presented a forecast of moderate growth in the Alabama economy in 2008 at its annual Economic Outlook Conference, held January 17 in Montgomery. About 170 attendees listened to expectations for a 2.2 percent increase in the state’s real GDP during the year and for the creation of almost 21,700 jobs, a 1.1 percent gain.  (more)horizontal lineGo to top

The University of Alabama 2006-2007 Economic Impacts

This report presents the economic impacts of The University of Alabama (UA) on the State of Alabama and the Tuscaloosa metro area. Both expenditure and employment impacts are presented. Public and private investment analyses of a UA education are also presented because state appropriations and tuition and other attendance costs can be considered as investments by both the state and the students. (more)
