Applied Statistics
The applied statistics offers both master's and Ph.D. programs with general courses in classical statistical methods, mathematical statistics, regression as well as specialized courses in topics such as experimental design, data mining, quality control, multivariate analysis, statistical computing, linear models, and nonparametric statistics. In addition, students are encouraged to take related courses in other areas.
New Faculty Appointed (8/16/08)
Dr. Marcus Perry joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in Applied Statistics this fall. He came to us from Florida International University, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Miami, FL. He earned his Ph.D. at Florida State University and both his B.S. and M.S. at Southern Illinois University. His research interests include the areas of empirical modeling and analysis, statistical process control, statistically designed experiments, response surface methodology, and time series analysis. He will be teaching Data Mining I and Applied Design of Experiments.
