Education: Missouri State University (B.S.), University of Missouri, Columbia (M.B.A. and Ph.D.). Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Ferguson was the director of the Center for Business and Economics Research (CBER) from 1977 to 1988 and was president of the national Association for University Business and Economic Research in 1987-88. He was instrumental in developing a model of the Alabama economy and in establishing the Center's role as the leading source for data analysis and information on the state's economy and population. In 1999 Dr. Ferguson was appointed Associate Dean for Research and Technology and returned as Director of CBER.As Associate Dean for Research and Technology, Dr. Ferguson was responsible for directing the College's sponsored research activities and for managing C&BA's technological resources. In addition to these duties, Dr. Ferguson taught a doctoral seminar on Structural Equation Model and Theory Development. Dr. Ferguson continues to speak to groups on the Alabama economy and is often quoted in the media.
