Events
Commerce associates get to participate in many exciting
events and meet many interesting people. Members learn to become
comfortable interacting with executives and businesspeople in a
social setting.
Alabama
Business Hall of Fame
The induction takes place at a blacktie dinner at
the Bryant Conference Center on the UA campus. The event features
a keynote speaker of national prominence. Some recent speakers were
Leo Drummond, CEO of Delta Airlines, and Samuel A. DiPiazza Jr.,
global chief executive officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Commerce
Associates attend this event and act as hosts and hostesses, and
dine with guests for a gourmet dinner.
C&BA
Board of Visitors
The Board of Visitors act as a steering committe for
C&BA. They hold meetings and socials twice a year that Commerce
Associates attend.
UA Home Football Games
The office of Alumni and Corporate Relations hold
receptions for members of the Commerce
Executive Society and their families before all home football
games. Commerce associates mingle with guests and sell merchandise.
Game time signals the end of the event, and everyone, including
Commerce Associates, can head to Bryant Denny.
Lowder
Lecture Speakers / Tours
Commerce Associates give tours to perspective students,
as well as esteemed Lowder Lecture speakers. This lecture series
brings prominet business men and women to C&BA to teach classes
in his or her field.
