Events

The Commerce Associates host events throughout the year, with participants ranging from prospective students and their families to officers of large companies. Commerce Associates create an enjoyable, effective environment at all events, and in turn are given the opportunity to meet influential industry leaders.

Alabama Business Hall of Fame

The induction takes place at a blacktie dinner at the Bryant Conference Center on the UA campus. The event features a keynote speaker of national prominence. Some recent speakers were Leo Drummond, CEO of Delta Airlines, and Samuel A. DiPiazza Jr., global chief executive officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Commerce Associates attend this event and act as hosts and hostesses, and dine with guests for a gourmet dinner. The 2011 induction dinner will be held on Thursday, October 13.

Tours / Lowder Lecture Speakers

Commerce Associates give tours to prospective students, giving a brief history of the school of business and offering personal insight into what it means to be a student in C&BA. The tours for Fall 2011 are being held at 10:00 am on Mondays, as well as 9:00 am and 1:00 pm on Fridays. See the contact page to arrange a tour!

Commerce Associates also give tours to esteemed Lowder Lecture speakers. This lecture series brings prominent business men and women to C&BA to teach classes in his or her field.

UA Home Football Games

The office of Alumni and Corporate Relations holds receptions for members of the Commerce Executive Society and their families before all home football games. Commerce Associates mingle with guests and sell merchandise. Game time signals the end of the event, and everyone, including Commerce Associates, can head to Bryant Denny.

C&BA Board of Visitors

The Board of Visitors act as a steering committee for C&BA. They hold meetings and socials twice a year that Commerce Associates attend.
