Amateur radio is one of Carl's hobbies.  Carl was first licensed in 1964 while a student at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.  His call sign at that time was WA0LNL.  His current call sign is W4UOA.  He particularly enjoys working international stations which are call DX and the new digital modes like PSK-31 and Slow Scan TV (SSTV).  This page will be updated periodically to report on new activities.

Ham Radio Operators Help Katrina Victims

Missouri hams deliver health and welfare traffic for friends and family in the aftermath of Katrina.

One of the hams is David Beckler of Nixa, Missouri.  A friend and fellow ham that many of us got to know through an amateur radio network know as the Bellringers--a group of active and retired Bell System employees.
